À travers un communiqué de presse parvenu à la rédaction de l’agence de presse en line RACINE INFO, ce jeudi 16 novembre 2023, le Département d’Etat américain est prêt à offrir 2 millions de dollars americian à toute personne pouvant donner des informations au FBI permettant l’arrestation du chef de gang de Torcer, Vitel’homme Innocent.

à l’arrestation et/ou à la condamnation d’un chef de gang haïtien

Le Département d’Etat annonce une augmentation jusqu’à 2 millions de dollars de la récompense offerte pour des informations pouvant conduire à l’arrestation et/ou à la condamnation du ressortissant haïtien Vitel’homme Innocent pour conspiration pour participer ou tentative de participer à un crime organisé transnational.
Cette annonce coïncide avec l’annonce faite par le FBI concernant l’ajout d’Innocent à la liste des dix fugitifs les plus recherchés et fait suite à la publication par le Département de la Justice d’un acte d’accusation à l’encontre d’Innocent pour conspiration en vue de commettre une prise d’otage ayant entraîné la mort, ainsi que d’autres chefs d’accusation.
Le 16 octobre 2021, le gang des 400 Mawozo s’est engagé dans une conspiration visant à kidnapper seize missionnaires chrétiens américains et un missionnaire canadien et les a détenus en vue d’obtenir une rançon. Puis, le 7 octobre 2022, des membres armés du gang d’Innocent ont enlevé deux citoyens américains seniors résidant à Torcelle, en Haïti, causant la mort de l’une des victimes de l’enlèvement. Innocent a été inculpé en tant que co-conspirateur dans les deux enlèvements.
Les États-Unis soutiennent les efforts de leurs partenaires haïtiens chargés de l’application de la loi pour renforcer l’État de droit en Haïti et lutter contre la criminalité transnationale organisée. U.S. Department of State Announces Increased Reward Offer
for Information Leading to the Arrest
and/or Conviction of Haitian Gang Leader

The State Department is announcing a reward offer increase of up to $2 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Haitian national Vitel’homme Innocent for conspiring to participate in or attempting to participate in transnational organized crime.
This announcement coincides with the FBI announcement of Innocent’s addition to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitive List and follows the Department of Justice’s announcement of an indictment against Innocent for conspiracy to commit hostage taking resulting in death, and other charges.
On October 16, 2021, the 400 Mawozo gang engaged in a conspiracy to kidnap sixteen U.S. Christian missionaries and one Canadian missionary and held them for ransom. Then, on October 7, 2022, armed members of Innocent’s gang kidnapped two elderly U.S. citizens residing in Torcelle, Haiti, resulting in the death of one of the kidnap victims. Innocent was charged as a co-conspirator in both kidnappings.
